Recognition of Prior Learning | back |
The Safety Network (Australia) P/L recognises first aid qualifications and statements of attainments that comply with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and are issued by another Registered Training Organisation (RTO) - for the certificate's remaining period of currency.

RPL involves the assessment of previously unrecognised skills and knowledge that an individual has achieved outside the formal education and training system. The Safety Network uses RPL for the award of competencies within the courses we offer. This is done partly by,
• demonstration of those competencies by the student at the time of assessment i.e. direct observation
• the student providing evidence (often in the form of a log book).
• references, by reputable organizations, detailing skills and competencies previously demonstrated by the student.
The options available to a student are written in their course handbook. All decisions are accountable, transparent and subject to review and appeal.
